This bubble mailer is like a normal envelope except that is is lined with inflated plastic bubbles. The bubble wrap is attached right to the inside of the mailer so there is no worry of shifting. Once a CD is enclosed, it will be completely surrounded by the bubble wrap.
The post office accepts these mailers, with the same size and weight requirements of a normal piece of mail. You can send a CD bubble mailer first-class. You may also want to check to see if your shipment qualifies as media mail, as sometimes there can be a savings there.
While a bubble wrapped envelope will offer much greater protection to your shipment, it should not replace insurance. If you are sending something of value, be sure to still insure it against damage, theft, or loss.
Because of their added protection, bubble mailer envelopes cost more than regular envelopes. However, if you want to make sure CDs or other merchandise do not get damaged, it is a wise investment. Mail and packages go through a lot of handling prior to delivery. Do not take a chance that every machine, conveyor belt, and person will handle your package with extreme care. Keep your merchandise safe inside of a bubble mailer.
